eXporter is an additional program created to save time for those who do a significant amount of testing. With eXporter, users looking to transfer out tests in bulk can export data directly from the Espion standard EXP
to TXT
files. This article will go through the steps on how to properly use the eXporter software. Included below is a video that goes over everything in this article in more detail.
Step 1: Transfer Tests from Espion to an EXP File
1) In Espion, select the patient you want tests exported for and then navigate to the protocol selection page. From here select the protocol you are interested in, and then click Old Tests
.
2) By default only tests generated by that specific protocol will show on screen. You can use the Filter Tests By
section of the page to change which tests you would like to include. Once you have the tests you are interested in visible on screen click the Transfer
button.
Tip: The video included at the top of the article goes over the different options on how to filter tests in more detail.
3) A pop up will appear with three options. Select the options you want and then click Output File
.
Current Test: Default option. Keep this selected if you only want the highlighted test to be transferred out.
All Test: Select this if you want all tests listed to be transferred out.
Patient Anonymity: Default option. This makes sure patient names and other identifiable information is not included.
3) Another pop up menu will appear where you can choose where to save the EXP
file. Select the location of your choosing and change the name of the file if you would like. Click Save
and you should now have the EXP
file saved!
Step 2: Convert the EXP to TXTs in eXporter
1) Click Open
and select the EXP
file that was just saved in Step 1.
2) This should load in all tests contained in the EXP
file. If there are a lot of tests to load in, watch the blue loading bar on the bottom right. When it is full all tests should be done loading in.
3) Click the Options
button. Change the settings to your preference and then set the Export File Path
at the bottom of the page. This is where all the TXT
files will be saved. (You may want to create a new folder beforehand and then select it).
Warning: If you don't set the Export File Path
before exporting, all the TXT
files will be saved in the C:\Multifocal
folder which may make them difficult to find.
Tip: The video at the top of this article goes over the various options on this page in detail.
4) From here you can click the Export
button. A pop up will appear asking if you would like to export all the records that were loaded in or only select ones. Select which one you want (most likely All Records
) then press Export
.
Tip: If you would like to select certain records from the loaded list, press Shift
on your keyboard and click the tests you are interested in.
5) All your tests should now be easily accessible as TXT
files!
